A Message from the President To all shipmates of HMS Andromeda Many of you will be aware of the success of the HMS Andromeda Association and those who were at the recent Coventry re-union in February will know that I have been asked to assume the responsibility of President. I am delighted to take this on, and since I have no predecessor and thus there are no rules, I will make up my own as I go along - but be sure that whatever I do I will always support the Association and its members in any way I am able and will continue to attend re-unions whenever possible. Our Association, which started with the first commission only ( which I had the privilege of commanding) has blossomed under the personal enthusiasm of Rick Matthews and Birdie Cage, but we still need to encourage more to join. I will do my part in contacting our officers but it is up to you to dig out some of our old shipmates and get them to come along. Why not set yourself the target of bringing one with you to our next year's re-union, probably in Torquay in February. I am a great believer in our Association not just for the sake of sentimental memory, but because I believe we were special and that there is something there that is worth preserving. As we all grow older, true friendships become of increasing importance and in our ever-changing world those high standards of loyalty and mutual dependency that we set for ourselves are as relevant to-day as they were then. Also I know that those who serve to-day, sometimes in difficult circumstances, deserve our full support - so we can still do our bit for the RN.. So. welcome aboard, and in due course, I look forward to meeting you all again - I shall certainly hope to be at the next re-union My wife, Penelope, joins in best wishes to you all. Michael Stacey.
